On July 21, MASAF published Directorial Decree No. 385535, of the OCM Wine Promotion in Third Country Markets 2023/2024 call.
The national call was long overdue, and the document outlines the operational and procedural modalities for project submission and implementation of the Measure with and its annexes.

What is OCM Wine – Promotion on Third Countries Markets call?

The call OCM Wine – Promotion on Third Country Markets is a measure that allows funding of projects related to the promotion of Italian wine products in non-European countries through activities aimed at improving the competitiveness of the wine sector and the opening, diversification or consolidation of markets.

What activities are financed by the call?

  1. Public relations, promotion and advertising actions highlighting the high standards of Union products, particularly in terms of quality, food safety or the environment;
  2. Participation in events, fairs and exhibitions of international importance;
  3. Information campaigns, in particular on quality schemes relating to designations of origin, geographical indications and organic production in force in the Union;
  4. Studies of new or existing markets, necessary for the expansion and consolidation of market outlets;
  5. Studies to evaluate the results of information and promotion activities.

How much is the contribution granted?

The amount of the contribution can cover up to 50% of the promotional costs incurred.

 

Regional and multi-regional calls

The Regions will adopt their notices, in accordance with the provisions of this Decree, within 30 days of the issue of the MASAF notice.

 

By when should projects be submitted?

All projects, both those of a national, regional and multi-regional nature, must be presented by 3.00 pm on 13 September 2023, under penalty of exclusion.

The projects and the related scores will be evaluated on the basis of:

  • the consistency of the proposed strategy with the objectives of the programme;
  • the quality of the proposed actions;
  • the suitability of the actions in terms of increasing the demand for products and/or increasing awareness of quality schemes;
  • the coherence of the financial plan both in relation to the specific interventions proposed and to the project objectives.

The activities can then be implemented from 16 October 2023 to January 2023 to 15 October 2024.
