Description
The Consorzio di Tutela del Roero was established in 2014 with the aim of carrying out the functions of protection, promotion, enhancement and consumer information on the Piedmontese ‘Roero’ DOCG. This objective is followed by the 250 producers and winegrowers of Arneis and Nebbiolo in the Roero area, the grape varieties on which the DOCG is based.
With the desire to expand its name and quality beyond European countries, the Consorzio Tutela del Roero turned to LC International to write, plan and participate in the project submitted in response to the Regione Piemonte’s call for tenders ‘OCM Wine – Promotion on Third Country Markets 2022/2023‘. The result has been the ‘Drink Roero’ project, which has obtained non-repayable contributions for the promotion of the area’s wine products in the countries in which the Consortium showed interest, advised by LC International: USA, Canada, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Norway, South-East Asia, Turkey.
The project began on 1 January 2023 and will end on 15 October 2023, a period in which promotional activities will be launched in the designated countries, all diversified on the basis of market and sector studies carried out by LC International, in order to achieve the best results in each area. Participation in trade fairs and tastings, creation of promotional material and PR activities are just some of the activities planned over the course of the months, with the aim of increasing the notoriety of the products being promoted, which in time will lead to a consequent increase in exports to new markets.3
